SECAUCUS, N.J. — Last weekend, LEGO gave us the opportunity to attend their Brick Fest event — "the ultimate LEGO fan experience."
Upon entering the Meadowlands Expo Center, we were greeted by a giant friend.

There were so many activities going on at once -- it was a lot for CB to take in. His eyes wouldn't stop moving in each direction.

As we walked towards the right, fans were building LEGO racecars. We didn't participate in this, because the line was sooooooo long.

Then, this life-sized guy with green hair popped out of nowhere with missiles in our faces!

Then, this red guy said, "Stop. Do NOT shoot our visitors. Put. The. Weapon. Down."

Okay, that really didn't happen. But that red guy was there for kids to shoot at with Nerf guns. Definitely a part-time job I wouldn't want to pick up.
(And by the way, maybe I'm just not hip anymore... but I couldn't put a name to most of the mascots' faces. Please enlighten me if you know who these characters are.)
Then, there were video games. (Since it wasn't Mario Kart, I didn't jump in.)

CB is a blocks-type-of-guy. However, he doesn't enjoy building things -- he loves taking things apart.

CB almost destroyed a whole building made of LEGOs, but luckily I was quick enough to play defense and give him a small mat to work with.

Check out the details. It's like you really live in this town, huh? This neighborhood is nicer than some of our own neighborhoods.

Then, there was a pool of red LEGOs — kind of eerie if you ask me. I was also surprised no kids dove in.

Ferris wheel, streets, trains. The details were amazing.

Then we came across this mosaic. Her forehead was a little shiny, but it's nothing some Clean & Clear oil absorbing sheets can't handle. Someone make some out of LEGOs for her.

Then CB added his own tile to the wall with his Godfather and his Auntie May.

And this castle was LIT!

Then Luke and Darth started beefin'.

Then a Storm Trooper grilled me.

But I realized he was after someone else.

And I knew it was a matter of time before CB dove in some pool full of LEGOs.

But what about glow-in-the-dark LEGOs? (These were so cool.)

Thanks again to LEGO for the tickets. We had a great time.
